Education is very vital as a means of development for every nation and every child should have access to it. Among children not attending school, there are twice as many girls as boys and among illiterate adults, there are twice as many women as men. Most girls, especially in rural communities have the desire to pursue their educational aspirations but become drop-outs due to several circumstances such as; 1. constraining environment 2. lack of self-esteem 3. inadequate school supplies 4. inability to acquire proper sanitary materials during periods 5. negative peer influence 6. teenage pregnancy The Girls Closet Project aims to empower girls to develop their personal skills and values and live a life of dignity. This initiative targets girls to provide an opportunity for them to access positive role models, academic support, and education on their health and well-being. So far, we have 1. Donated over 3000 disposable sanitary pads to 200 Girls in schools 2. Provided self-improvement guide to girls to help them combat social issues like drugs, rape, etc 3. Mentored and coached girls on topics such as time management, menstrual hygiene, life after school, personal hygiene and sexual relationships, and peer influence. 4.
