The Trees for Merit Challenge is a year-long collaboration between the Global Tree Initiative (GTI) and QS ImpACT educates young people about the importance of tree plantation and encourages them to participate in planting trees in their communities. The Tree-plantation challenge is the starting of a youth movement in tackling SDG 15 – Life on Land while creating measurable impACT. The collaboration aims to further amplify the purpose of a regenerative effort.
Since our launch in August 2022 thousands of trees have been planted, hundreds of people have come together and been inspired to tackle SDG 13 and SDG 15.
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Tree-Planting Week, April 17th – 21st as part of our year-long Trees for Merit Challenge, between QS ImpACT and Global Tree Initiative. Many people are already committed to restoring degraded land by planting trees. Still, deforestation and climate change cannot be halted without the collaboration of every single one of us. We must get together to plant trees and protect the ones we already have.
During our Tree-Planting Week, we invite young people across the world to plant trees in parks, schools, and other public spaces in their community.
This is an open call to all young people who are passionate about the environment and want to make a positive impact. Whether you’re a student, a young professional, or just someone who loves nature, we welcome you to join us.
We believe you deserve to be rewarded for your good actions, so we will offer the following to the most impactful group:
- 50 GBP;
- A certificate for the winner;
- A tree planted in their name by The Green Rebel;
- The chance to be eligible to apply for the QS ImpACT Awards.
Upload your impact report: include pictures of your tree-planting activity, add the people who joined you as collaborators, and tell us what trees you planted in your local area.
