The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) is the highest-level decision-making body on environmental issues in the United Nations system. It convenes every two years to address the most pressing environmental challenges facing the world. UNEA brings together representatives from member states, UN agencies, civil society, and other stakeholders to discuss and negotiate global environmental policies and actions.

The sixth session of the UNEA is right around the corner, and we’re thrilled to share that the QS ImpACT team will be joining the event in Nairobi, Kenya from 26th February – 1st March, 2024.

The theme and focus on UNEA 6 is effective, inclusive and sustainable multilateral actions to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution.

Our CEO, Beth Eden, accompanied by Confidence Mawusi, our Community Engagement Coordinator, and Aashna Shah, our Program Manager, will be proudly representing QS ImpACT at the UNEA to network with leaders, experts and fellow organizations in the environmental sphere.

While we are at the UNEA 6, QS ImpACT will also be conducting a side event in collaboration with the University of Karachi and Mehran University, on 29th February 2024 at 9AM GMT / 2PM PKT. The event aims to foster discussions on climate change and sustainability, targeting youth engagement.

This hybrid event will focus on empowering youth through SDG literacy and skill development, so they are able to access scholarships and future opportunities. The event will kick off with an in-person poster session hosted by the University of Karachi, followed by an online segment where the QS ImpACT team will be live from the UNEA 6. Attendees can gain insights into the UNEA proceedings and engage in an interactive Q&A session with our team for a dynamic experience.

The side event will also feature reputed speakers from the University of Karachi, Mehran University and the QS ImpACT Pakistan Council, who will join us to discuss the impacts of climate change and empower students to take action in their local communities.
